Dear Village at Belmar Community,
We wanted to make you all aware that we were notified this morning that one of our associates who was tested during our bi-weekly associate testing last Thursday received a positive result for COVID-19. This associate was and still is asymptomatic and is recovering at home. Because we already did full resident testing yesterday gearing up for indoor visitation, we have covered the bases with regard to resident contact tracing and we will be testing all associates this week.
Based on the nature of this associate’s position, they primarily work in the Memory Care portion of the community. Based on this and from direction given from Jefferson County Health, outdoor visitation for Memory Care will have to cease for at least two weeks while we do continued testing. Window visits will be conducted in place of the outdoor visits.
Continued outdoor visitation, resident free travel throughout the community with social distancing and small group activities with social distancing will still be permitted in assisted living. We will, however, delay the opening of the dining room to Monday, September 28th while we do continued testing.
After doing 8 weeks of continuous testing and bi-weekly testing thereafter, we were very disappointed to have to report this news to all of you after being free of any COVID-19 cases for the last three months. The team continues to be extremely vigilant in their precautions and sanitization measures.
Once we receive the results from our resident and associate testing, we will communicate those to all of you. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this very difficult time.
If you have any further questions, please reach out to Village at Belmar’s Interim Executive Director, Jeanne Barnard, the Vice President of Operations for Ascent Living Communities.
Sincerely,
Tom & Susie Finley – Founder and Principal
