Dear Village at Belmar Community,
We wanted to provide an update to all of you regarding our community Covid status. We have identified a confirmed positive associate that was and is asymptomatic and was tested as a part of our contact tracing from last week. They are home and resting comfortably.
Based on the nature of this associate’s job duties, we will be conducting contact tracing and another round of testing for all associates over the next few days. Once we have results from the upcoming round of testing, we will send another update letter.
We will continue to keep the dining room closed until we have test results next week. Small group activities and outdoor visitation will be permitted. Based on the increased Covid-19 cases that we are experiencing as a state, we feel it is important to not only remind our associates but also to remind our families of the very vulnerable, at risk population we serve. We have observed some family members non-complaint with mask wearing and social distancing during outdoor visits. This puts all residents and associates at risk and may potentially cause us to make changes to this program. Based on the county incidence levels, indoor visitation is on hold for all senior living communities in Jefferson County.
We continue to be in close communication with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and Jefferson County Health Department and are following their direction and protocols, as well as those of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Governor’s office and our Medical Consultant, Dr. Gagandeep Singh.
We would like to take this time to share with you our track record of keeping people safe at Village at Belmar, and as a company. At Village at Belmar, we have only had two positive Assisted Living associates who date back to May, and both fully recovered. Our experience tells us that masks, PPE, sanitization practices and social distancing work in keeping Covid-19 away from the community. We appreciate this may be a difficult and uncertain time for you. We will continue to be transparent in our communication and update you as new details become available. We will continue to work diligently to keep the rest of our community safe and healthy.
Reminder that you can always check our Hotline for regular updates and those can be heard at (720) 545-0363.
If you have any further questions, please reach out to Village at Belmar’s Executive Director, Rebecca Norris, at (303) 351-5455.
Sincerely,
Tom & Susie Finley – Founder and Principal
