Dear Village at Belmar Community,
We’re providing you an update regarding our community Covid-19 status. Yesterday we had two associates in two different departments test positive for Covid-19. They both have mild symptoms and are home and resting comfortably. There were a few associates who had an exposure to one of the positive associates and they are quarantining at home.
All associates will be tested again this Thursday which will satisfy any contact tracing against the two positive associates. Testing of the Memory Care residents and associates was completed last week and all results received have been negative. Two of the four positive Memory Care residents continue with mild symptoms and the other’s symptoms have resolved. We are pleased to report that we have not had any additional symptomatic or positive residents at the community since 10/29 which is indicative of good infection control practices being consistently implemented.
All outdoor visitation for the community continues to be on hold and we will conduct window visits for both Assisted Living and Memory Care. The Assisted Living dining room will remain closed and residents are being encouraged to remain in their apartments unless they are being escorted to participate in a window visit with the proper PPE. We have narrowed the definition of allowable essential workers and will only be giving access in emergent situations, as determined by the clinical team and Executive Director of the community.
We have been in continued close communication with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and Jefferson County Health Department and are following their direction and protocols, as well as those of our Medical Consultant, Dr. Gagandeep Singh. We have a large PPE order which should arrive at the community today.
Several family members have asked about taking their loved ones out for the holidays and the protocols associated with that. Based on the highly elevated numbers county and statewide, this is certainly not a practice that is being encouraged. We will get information out in the next few days on protocols upon return to the community, for those who choose to take loved ones out over the holidays.
Please remember that you can always check our Hotline for regular updates and those can be heard at (720) 545-0363.
If you have any further questions, please reach out to Village at Belmar’s Executive Director, Rebecca Norris, at (303) 351-5455.
Sincerely,
Tom & Susie Finley – Founder & Principal
